This detached, single-storey renovated cottage is located on the outskirts of the historic village of Moniaive and offers a very good standard of holiday accommodation. Situated in beautiful countryside and rolling hills between Galloway Forest Park and Southern Uplands, it is an ideal base for exploring. Golf, fishing, hill walking, cycling and abundance of wildlife give plenty of scope for outdoor activities. Drumlanrig Castle and Dumfries are a short drive and Edinburgh and Glasgow are easily reached within 1.5 hours. Shop, pub and restaurant 600 yards.

All on ground floor: Living room/kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Shower room with toilet. Laminate floors throughout.

Electric panel heaters, elec, bed linen and towels inc. Freeview TV. DVD. Elec cooker. M/wave. W/machine. Patio and furniture. Parking (1 car). No smoking.

  8. The owners are very pleasant, helpful, non-obtrusive. Use of large paddock handy for dogs. Cottage is excellent. Couple of pubs (not expensive) in village. This was our second visit. March 2012.

  15. We visited Glen Rowan Bothy in September and had a peaceful, relaxing week there the cottage was very clean, warm and comfortable and the Owners really friendly. Moniaive is a very picturesque Village and the surrounding countryside is lovely. We would have no hesitation in recommending a holiday there to our family and friends. Aug 2011.
