Accommodation description

Panoramic sea views

This attractive detached cottage offering spacious holiday accommodation, furnished and decorated to a good standard, is set on the seashore, just 15 yards from the shingle beach (sand at low tide), just outside of Pirnmill. From most of the rooms and the conservatory you have fantastic sea views over the Kilbrannan Sound towards Kintyre and guests can enjoy the evening sunsets. You can easily walk to the shop and restaurant, 0.25 miles. From nearby Lochranza with its facilities, restaurants and the distillery you can take the short ferry trip to Claonaig and explore a piece of Kintyre. The Isle of Arran has long since been a playground for the Scots, its topography resembles that of a miniature Scotland - a mountainous north and rolling, pastoral south. Arran has many outdoor activities in peaceful, countryside surroundings. The wildlife is outstanding, with deer, pheasant, otter and eagle readily seen in the mountains. There are seal colonies near coastal caves, trails and pathways to mysterious Bronze Age stone circles, and many relaxing angling hours to be enjoyed by streams or sea. 7 golf courses tempt the golfer, whilst history and heritage is catered for at Brodick Castle and various museums. Shop and restaurant 0.25 miles, pub 4 miles.

Ground floor: Living room. Dining room. Kitchen. Conservatory with French doors. 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet. Separate toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 1 double, 1 twin, 1 single.

Open fire in living room (initial fuel included). NSH, electricity, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair. Freeview TV. DVD and small library. iPod dock. Games. Book library. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Dishwasher. Freezer. Wi-fi. Enclosed garden with patio and furniture. Ample parking. No smoking. Please note: There is open access to a stream in the garden.

Great cottage in a wonderful place. Stayed here many times and enjoyed lovely holidays. The couple of improvements I mentioned last time were quickly put in place and everything was perfect for our recent holiday. The caretaker does a wonderful job keeping the cottage clean & making sure we are comfortable. I have recommended the cottage to many friends over the years & we'll certainly be back.

Fab cottage in great location. No complaints but a few tips. Kitchen could do with updating, cooker control knobs are so worn you can't see the numbers & dishwasher handle broken so difficult to open. Bath desperately needs handles, my husband has slipped & fallen getting out of the bath on our last 2 stays with big bruises both times. A separate shower would be a lot easier to access but no option with the shower over the bath. Everything else is great. Very well looked after by Grace, warm welcome, always there to help & the cottage is spotless. Lovely garden, perfect for dogs & you could spend your whole holiday looking out over the sea from the comfortable conservatory.
