  1. Much better than your description. Oct 2012.
  2. Very clean, Alfie, the owner is on his own now as his wife died last year. He is seventy years old, the cleanliness and upkeep of the cottage and his friendly personality made a great start to the holiday. There is plenty to do and see, something for all ages. We would stay at this cottage again sometime in the future. April 2012.
  3. Lovley cottage returned for third visit, as wonderful as ever, totally pleased. April 2012.
  4. The cottage was in an ideal location for exploring the area. It was very comfortable, clean and well presented. The owner who lives next door was most friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The garden was much appreciated in the lovely spring sunshine. March 2012.
  5. Not having stayed at Brenham Cottage before we were delighted by the welcome and standard of the accommodation. It was very comfortable with a log burning stove for cosy evenings when it got colder outside. A safe enclosed garden gave the dogs a fun place to play. Look forward to going back next year. Oct 2011.
  6. This property was an excellent base for visiting loads of surrounding attractions. We would recommend to anyone. We had three children aged 8, 4 and 2 years and did not find the spiral staircase a problem. We had a very warm welcome and goodbye from the owner and the milk, tea, coffee and biscuits were very nice for arrival. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would love to return again one day. Thank you. Oct 2011.
  7. Wonderful cottage, well equipped, owner friendly and helpful. Pool is lovely although can be on the chilly side warmed up by the end of the week.Garden fenced in and safe and secure for our dog, lovely sunny garden when the weather is nice!! Although quite rural it is a fantastic location only 2.5 miles from Calne (Sainsburys and other local shops, sports centre etc) and 5 miles from Chippenham. Wonderful walks from the cottage and in surrounding area. Lacock (National Trust) village beautiful well worth a wander around. Devices (only about 5/6 miles) lovely walk along the locks. Bradford upon Avon worth a visit , nice town to walk around and can hire either a canoe ( which we did!) and paddle along the canal which was lovely, different way to view the countryside!! or bicycle hire or simply walk along the tow path. Malmesbury was worth a visit too, pretty market town. All in all lovely area would definitely recommend a visit. Aug 2011.
  8. This was our 2nd stay and we hope to return soon as Alfie was so kind and helpful nothing was too much trouble. June 2011.
  9. This was an absolutely fabulous cottage. Brilliant location, especially if you have dogs as there are wonderful walks straight from the property. The owner, Alfie, is a lovely man and made us feel very welcome - thank you Alfie for helping to make our holiday! We would definitely recommend this cottage to family and friends and would love to return in the future. June 2011.
  10. The warm welcome we received from the owner made us feel comfortable straight away. We found the cottage to be exceptionally clean and well equipped and lots of careful thought has gone into making this a splendid cottage to spend a holiday in a lovely part of England. The safe enclosed garden was a big plus for our dogs who had a great time. Highly recommended. May 2011.
  11. This is a great cottage - dog friendly - we have 3 dogs - the garden is very safe, the owner very welcoming, all the facilities in the cottage, we found, to a high standard. Lots of walks nearby and a public footpath at the back of the property that crosses a field and leads to many other bridleways and footpaths. We walked along the Avon Kennet Canal with the dogs over the course of 4 days, very pleasant - a cottage and location we would highly recommend and look forward to returning to in the near future. May 2011.
  12. A lovely cottage in a lovely location. Lots of history in nearby towns. Very quiet location but you would need transport if you wanted to look around locally. Very friendly neighbours. April 2011.
  13. We were extremely pleased with the cottage. It had everything you could imagine to make our stay enjoyable and welcoming. We found it to be comfortable, modern and lovely and clean. Views and walks around the cottage were excellent and our host was very friendly and welcoming. April 2011.
  14. Lovely cottage, wonderful small village, lots of walks and beautiful scenery! Everyone who wrote in the visitors book had enjoyed the stay and would recommend. Alfie the owner is a wonderful man and very helpful! Just one warning; although the garden in hedged and fenced my 2 dogs were able at the time, to escape out onto the main road. We made Alfie aware of the gap in the hedge and he was planning to fix this. please don’t let this put you off staying here as my dogs are escape artists anyway, other dogs may not find the gap. The cottage is clean and well equipped with lovely rooms and are comfortable throughout. underfloor heating in bathroom. Really fab place to stay - highly recommended. (Try to find the peacock!). April 2011.

  19. The cottage exceeded our expectations, it was very well equipped had everything and more that you needed. It was very spacious downstairs and the 2 bedrooms upstairs had plenty of room. The garden was safe for our dog it was set in very peaceful surroundings and the owners of the cottage couldnt do enough to help, they were also very friendly which aided in a relaxing break.
